Mr. Morris -- Social Studies and Science

I hope everyone had a great summer, but it's time to get back to school! This will be my first year as part of the 5th Grade Team as well so I cannot wait to get started. In Social Studies this year, we will be covering the story of how the United States came to be the country we all know today. We will start with the people that lived here before any Europeans even came over, move to European exploration, then discuss how the English colonists turned a colony into a brand new country!

In Science, we will be starting off the year learning about the Scientific Method and moving quickly into cells. We will then talk about how cells work in body systems and how the body functions. Later in the year, we will get into more, including space!

Students will be using technology, such as internet research and PowerPoint, to gather information and present projects this year.
